I mean, holy shit. Gerardo (an album my roommate owns by the way)! That guy was pure rubbish. Color Me Badd is in there. Whatever happened to them? Hopefully they fell off of a cliff in a tragic bus accident. Sure there are some good songs in there, but for the most part, it's bad stuff, very very bad. Hair bands, Mariah Carey, Bryan Adams, C&C Music Factory, Timmy "fucking" T?? Who is that anyway? I don't even think I remember that guy, and I have a mind for trivial items.

OK, this last list just leads me to the basic conclusion that popular music sucks. That was the basic premise of this entry of course. Popular music, it stinks. It's too influenced by mass media radio right now and how they can kill songs in the span of oh, I don't know, about 10 hours. Especially radio in North Carolina right now, it's unbelievably BAD. B-A-D bad. I tune in, and then I tune out, almost immediately. The same songs, over and over and over again, relentlessly. They're killing radio these media giants. Media giants like Clear Channel. They own, oh, I don't know, about a million radio stations, and independant control is over and one with. DJs don't even get to play music that they want now. Before, they had a little latitude, but now, nothing... Programming is sent down from the head office.

What were the top songs from your years?
